| Office to involve close to half million farmers under safety-net program |

Saturday, 14 November 2009 Harar, November 14 (WIC) - The East Harerge Zone Disaster Prevention and Food Security Office said close to half a million farmers will take part under safety-net program this budget year. Office Head, Harun Aliy, told today WIC that program will be executed in 14 woredas of the zone beginning this month. He said the farmers will engaged in soil and water conservation, terrace work, sinking of water wells, as well as construction of road and health posts. Several farmers have become food self-sufficient following the development activities carried out in the zone over the past five year, it was learnt. WIC

| College graduates over 400 students with diploma |
| Saturday, 26 September 2009 | Harar, September 26 (WIC) – The Harar College of Teachers Education graduated over 400 students with diploma on Thursday. College Dean Mesfin Kebede said at the graduation ceremony that the graduates were trained in language, mathematics, natural and social science fields of the study for three years. He said 190 of the graduates were females. Some 98 teachers drawn from Diredawa city administration and trained in Afan Oromo were also graduated with certificate.
